This position is a part of the Non-Academic Staff Association (NASA).
This position has a term length of 1 year plus 1 day, with the possibility of extension, and offers a .
Location - This role is in-person at North Campus Edmonton.
TREC is a complex research program in the Faculty of Nursing of the University of Alberta. We currently hold over $8 million in active grants totalling from national and provincial granting agencies and the Government of Alberta. Our team comprises a variety of staff, Postdoctoral Fellows, Research Associates, Research Assistants and trainees. We also work closely with investigators and collaborators across Canada and around the world. Decision makers at the senior regional health level and in provincial government are also members of our team.
We are currently looking for passionate, resourceful Research Assistants to support our ongoing research projects.
Responsibilities:
Research

• Helps to monitor and assess project status on an ongoing basis to ensure project objectives are met
• Assists senior staff in the collection and analysis of data
• Supports data management by tracking, cleaning and structuring the data in preparation for analysis.

Communication and Dissemination of Data

• Drafts reports and briefings for different stakeholder groups
• Coordinates correspondence with team members, partners and stakeholders
• Assists in the writing of reports

Administration

• Supports research and implementation teams during workshops
• Supports team members in coordinating field travel logistics and planning
• Arranges meetings, sends invitations and participations in regular group meetings/calls for various projects
• Coordinates correspondence with partners and stakeholders
• Takes notes and minutes for meetings; distills the action items
• Photo-copying, printing, and other administrative tasks

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (for example, Nursing, Health Sciences or Public Health)
• Research experience in long-term care or health research is an asset
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment and to multi-task while remaining organized
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated superior written and oral communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Highly detail-oriented
• High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
