The Opportunity

The Research Assistant will perform a wide range of duties including some or all of the following: REB submissions, source document development, maintaining filing system for documents, internal/external communications, participant recruitment and follow-up, source data verification and data entry and providing study management assistance to study team as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize all study documents and file according to CCfV filing SO.
  • Assist research team with administrative study tasks as needed
  • Prepare source documentation forms
  • Track and report on progress of studies
  • Perform follow-up calls to study participants and/or families; liaise between study participants and/or families and research staff
  • Verify the source documentation and complete electronic Case Report Forms (eCRF) data entry
  • Track and order study supplies as needed
  • Attend and participate in relevant study meetings and site initiation visits
  • Recruit, enroll, and consent study participants where applicable
  • Participate in Study Monitor visits as needed
  • Advise research team of issues that may impact study milestones in a timely manner
Hours of Work

Monday - Friday, Weekends, 8:00am-4:00pm, 7.5 hours shifts

Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree education in administration, project management or health services/scientific field. A combination of experience and diploma may be considered.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience within a university, hospital, or comparable environment in a research setting.
  • Experience in research administration.
  • Excellent time management skills and experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; French (spoken and written) considered an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Operates effectively, tactfully and diplomatically with research team members and study participants.
  • Skills, Knowledge, Education and Experience:
  • Understanding of research environment and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance Center effectiveness
  • Demonstrate a high level of time management and decision-making skills in regards to setting priorities based on deadlines (both internal and external)
  • Organization skills and planning, including developing a work schedule, monitoring progress towards goals, and tracking details, data, information and activities
  • Experience with REB submissions considered an asset.
