Position Summary:
The successful applicant, working under the supervision of Dr. Mabel Carabali as a research/project coordinator the CIHR funded Zika virus (ZIKV) Individual Participant Data (IPD) Meta-analyses (MA) Phase II and the analysis of Surveillance based IPD data" (ZIKV-IPD-MA-2S) research project. The ZIKV-IPD-MA-2S is a collaborative research initiative including researchers form McGill University, the WHO, the ZIKV-IPD consortium, and the University of British Columbia. Assessing the risk of congenital malformations, fetal loss, child mortality and developmental issues due to Zika virus (ZIKV) infection is challenging due to data scarcity, lack of appropriate ZIKV-exposure ascertainment, and limited accuracy in the attribution of such health outcomes to ZIKV infection. To address these challenges, we propose a project that leverages data from 62 longitudinal studies (22 countries) participating in the ZIKV Individual Participant Data (IPD) Consortium, a World Health Organization (WHO) led collective initiative to conduct IPD meta-analyses (MA) to assess risk of ZIKV exposure during pregnancy or at birth. Our project, the ZIKV-IPD-MA-2S, includes data harmonization, empirical estimation of adverse Zika outcomes while addressing measurement biases. We aim at generating evidence to inform public policy, healthcare providers and pregnant individuals, improving prevention during imminent future outbreaks. The main duties will be to assist with the overall project management ZIKV-IPD-MA-2S research project as described below:

Provide administrative and logistic support (including coordinating, arranging and scheduling meetings) from different working groups and members of McGill University, the ZIKA Consortium, and WHO coordination teams
Monitor study progress to ensure completeness and accuracy of data collected
Coordinate inputs from members of McGill University, the ZIKA Consortium, and WHO coordination team
Coordinate harmonization of uploaded datasets for Phase II and update of SharePoint site.
Supports research activities directly related to the research project such as literature reviews, grant preparation, scientific reports, update authorship information and COIs for Consortium publications, and preparation of ethics review board documents and contracts
Assists in data management efforts (e.g., complete upload of datasets and codebooks for all contributing studies; maintain accurate and complete record of activities, data collection, and data analysis procedures) in research studies
Depending on the experience, participate on data analysis or contribute to the interpretation and presentation of research findings
Assist in knowledge transfer activities (e.g., elaboration of policy briefs)
To attend relevant workshops and conferences as necessary
To learn new skills and contribute to other projects
