Position Summary:
Under the direction of the principal investigator, the research assistant will be
responsible for the following;Literature Review & Background Research
Search, collect, and summarize relevant academic or clinical literature to support research questions and project development.
Data Collection
Conduct surveys or interviews; gather quantitative and qualitative data following ethical protocol.
Data Management
Enter, clean, code, and organize data using tools such as Excel, SPSS, NVivo, or other software.
Data Analysis
Assist in running statistical tests, thematic analysis, or other methods under supervision of the researchers.
Documentation
Keep detailed notes of procedures, research protocols, and results to ensure accuracy and reproducibility.
Report Writing & Dissemination
Draft sections of research papers, abstracts, presentations, or posters; format references; prepare materials for conferences or publications.
Administrative Support
Coordinate research logistics such as scheduling meetings, maintaining databases, filing ethics documentation, and handling correspondence with participants.
Qualifications:Graduate degree
Detail-oriented and self-motivated
Fluent in both English and French (speaking and writing)
Demonstrates excellent communication and planning skills
Fosters a cooperative team environment
Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level #4 (qualifier) on a scale of 0-4.
