Hiring Unit:Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences
Position Summary:Carry out the organization and cataloguing of an extensive suite of carbonatite samples
Document each sample with photographs and descriptions using established petrographic methods
Compile a comprehensive database of this documentation
Establish a storage system for the collection with sample numbers keyed to the database
Qualifications:Experience in sample organization and documentation procedures, in particular for drill core and ore deposit samples
Familiarity with mineral and rock ID in carbonatitic and basic-ultrabasic rocks
Petrographic research and problem-solving skills
Education and Experience:BSc degree in geoscience
Minimum of 2 years of relevant academic experience in the research area
