Hiring Unit:Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences
Position Summary:Develop an experimental method for the geochemical system using established petrographic methods
Preparation of experimental charges using quantitative laboratory techniques, e.g., analytical weighing of reagents and micro welding of gold capsules
Execution of laboratory experiments according to prescribed safety guidelines
Characterization of run products using scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM-EDS) and electron microprobe analysis
Documentation of the experimental methods, results and interpretation in a comprehensive report
Qualifications:Academic experience in the methodology and execution of high-temperature petrographic experiments
Research and problem-solving skills in geochemistry and petrography
Experience with geochemical analytical techniques
Familiarity with mineral ID in carbonatitic rocks
Experience and Education:BSc degree in geoscience
Experience with geochemical analytical techniques
