The casual research assistant 1 position will join our inter-disciplinary program at the Department of Physiology. Our research interest is CFTR and other membrane protein folding, misfolding, structure-traffic relationship and signaling.
Position Summary:
The casual research assistant 1 position will join our inter-disciplinary program at the Department of Physiology. Our research interest is CFTR and other membrane protein folding, misfolding, structure-traffic relationship and signaling.

• Cloning and mutagenesis of selected integral membrane proteins
• Chimeric reporter proteins generation
• CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing of target proteins.
• Monitoring protein of interests processing, cell surface expression and interactome.
• Transient and stable expression of heterologous proteins and their characterization
• Weekly progress report preparation, lab meeting attendance, and administrative contribution to the smooth operation of the lab are expected

Qualifications:

• Mass spec experience would be an asset
• Committed candidate must hold a B.Sc. in biochemistry or molecular cell biology, and has a strong background in molecular biology, protein biochemistry, immunostaining, ELISA and tissue culture, with excellent organizational and communication skills.
