Job Description


The INTREPID Lab (Formerly the Nicotine Dependence Service) in an integrated Learning Health System that includes a clinical service, research, training/education and knowledge mobilization focused on tobacco and vaping cessation while paying attention to other chronic disease risk factors.

We are seeking a full-time, contract (one year) Research Analyst to work closely with the INTREPID Lab\xe2\x80\x99s Principal Investigator and Scientific Associate to support a variety of research, quality improvement, and knowledge mobilization initiatives within our Lab. The Research Analyst will be responsible for conducting literature reviews and synthesizing these findings into various communication formats, with an emphasis on developing presentations for a range of clinical and academic audiences.

The Research Analyst will also provide administrative support for grant applications to various funding agencies. Supporting the scientific team with submissions, responses, and renewals to the Research Ethics Board (REB) and Quality Projects Ethics Review (QPER) for a wide range of projects is another key task as part of this role. The successful candidate will also support research study and project-related administration, including programming online surveys and computer-based testing, mainly in the REDCap platform.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Psychology, Public Health/Health Systems, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • One (1) year of relevant experience
  • Experience preparing presentations of research results (e.g., oral or poster presentations) for a variety of audiences (including academic) is required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of university library databases and reference material search and retrieval procedures is required
  • Experience in computer-based and online methods of data collection and/or knowledge dissemination is required. Experience with the REDCap platform and a statistical software package (e.g., Stata, R) would be advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to exercise initiative and good judgment is required for this position. The successful candidate will have the ability to multi-task and produce high-quality, accurate work in a fast-paced environment, while meeting deadlines.
  • Candidates will possess the ability for self-directed learning/working, and must be able to meet deadlines and work independently
  • The candidate will need to have excellent time management skills, and be able to respond to shifting and tight timelines for deliverables, as needed
  • Flexibility and openness to changing priorities are required with respect to type of work assigned and potentially variable hours of work

Please Note: This full-time, contract (one year) position is part of the OPSEU Bargaining Unit.

Salary Range: $25.03 - $33.38 per hour
