This position reports to the Director of Research within the National Indigenous Economic Prosperity Institute (NIEPI). The Research Analyst will support the implementation of the National Indigenous Economic Strategy, track implementation overall, document and articulate impact, and advocate for the advancement of economic reconciliation.

Duties:

Support the development and implementation of research projects aligned with the National Indigenous Economic Strategy and the 107 Calls to Economic Prosperity. Conduct literature reviews, jurisdictional scans, and background research to support strategic priorities. Assist with qualitative and/or quantitative data collection and contribute to summarizing research findings. Help draft reports, briefing notes, presentations, and knowledge mobilization products tailored for diverse audiences. Support the coordination of community or stakeholder engagement activities, including meeting logistics, communications, and background documentation. Prepare agendas, compile meeting materials, and summarize key discussion points when appropriate. Maintain accurate research documentation and contribute to data management processes in accordance with Indigenous data governance protocols (e.g., OCAP). Collaborate with team members on grant proposals, ethics applications, and project tracking. May assist in coordinating tasks with Research Assistants, under direction from the Research Strategist. Works under the direction of the Research Strategist and within established research plans. Collaborates with internal and external project teams.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Business Administration, Economics, Political Science, Public Policy, Indigenous Studies or other related area).

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required

Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to synthesize information clearly and concisely. Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills. Familiarity with research tools for data management, qualitative analysis, or citation organization. Adaptability and openness to learning in a fast-paced, culturally grounded environment. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Applies established research methods and tools to complete assigned tasks and resolve routine information gaps. Demonstrated interest or experience in Indigenous governance, research, or community development. Strong written communication skills and some experience with research-related writing (e.g., coursework, reports, policy summaries). Familiarity with research processes, including literature reviews and basic data handling. Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Organized and able to manage tasks across multiple projects and deadlines. Willingness to engage with Indigenous research protocols, data governance, and ethical principles.

Salary Range:

APT Grade 4 ($62,490 - $84,064)
