Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director, Consortium on Analytics for Data-Driven Decision-Making (CAnD3), provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Quebec Inter-university Centre for Social Statistics (QICSS) McGill-Concordia Laboratory and the Centre on Population Dynamics. The incumbent will also provide support regarding the financial aspect of the training program offered by CAnD3) and act as a liaison for the Centre d'acces aux donnees de recherche de l'Institut de la statistique du Quebec (CADRISQ).



Primary Responsibilities:Establish regular exchange and collaboration with the QICSS's other components and with users of the Laboratory. Maintain regular exchange and coordinate with the Statistics Canada analysts affiliated with the QICSS Administer the secretariat of the QICSS Laboratory and the CPD (minutes of various committees and
meetings, annual activity & financial reports, room booking, financial transactions, human resources, etc.).
Promote the QICSS Laboratory and CPD to researchers, centers, and institutes that use social statistics through a variety of activities or promotional material (meetings, presentations, posters, etc.); Support researchers in accessing data with the QICSS Laboratory application process. Organize research activities for both the QICSS Laboratory and the CPD (conferences, workshops, trainings, seminar series, receptions, etc.) and occasionally the CAnD3. Assist with updating and maintaining both the QICSS and CPD websites. Provide support with the preparation of funding applications and reports for both the QICSS Laboratory and the CPD. Gather, organize and format relevant information in support of the administration of the unit. Respond to support requests from researchers regarding funding issues. Monitor financial budgets for both the QICSS Laboratory, the CPD and the CAnD3. Ensure the proper functioning of the units (IT support requests, Building issues, Access, etc.) and act as a resource person for the QICSS Laboratory users and the various services of the University. Act as liaison for the Centre d'acces aux donnees de recherche de l'Institut de la statistique du Quebec (CADRISQ) between the Centre and the McGill University (Security Services, Building Issues, Access).


Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:
Bachelor's Degree preferred. Directly relevant experience working as an administrator in an academic/higher education environment with a proven ability to manage complex, multi-faceted mandates. Experience managing financial budgets. Client-focused, excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to engage with various stakeholders with tact and diplomacy. Advanced problem-solving, priority-setting, analytical and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail. Proficiency in a PC environment, including Microsoft Suite. Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English and French.
Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 4 (fluent ) on a scale of 0-4.
