The opportunity:



The University of Manitoba is seeking a Research Administrative Assistant to join a dynamic family mental health research team led by Dr. Leslie Roos on a full-time continuing basis. This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in supporting academic and research environments. Responsibilities include coordinating schedules and communications, managing project and financial administration, supporting grant applications and reporting, and assisting with knowledge exchange and public-facing materials. The qualifications and experience we're looking for:



Completion of a formal training program in a related discipline from a recognized institution. Minimum of 3 years of administrative experience in a post-secondary, research, healthcare or related environment. Experience with financial processing systems (e.g., Concur, EPIC, Fast) and HR administration preferred. Experience supporting research programs or coordinating academic teams considered an asset. An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Excellent organizational and time management skills are required. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently. Strong written communication skills, including proofreading, formatting, and preparing professional correspondence. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat. Ability to learn and navigate institutional platforms and tools (e.g., Concur, UM Intranet, Research Accounting systems). Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. High level of discretion and judgment with confidential materials and academic communications. Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
