Hours and Compensation:
  • Regular; full-time position.
  • Two week rotation on day and afternoon shift:
    • Days: Monday to Friday – 7:00am to 3:30pm
    • Afternoons: Monday to Thursday – 3:30pm to 2:00am
  • Mandatory on-call rotating continental shift coverage:
    • Sunday to Saturday; 12hr shifts; 7:30am to 7:30pm and 7:30pm to 7:30am.
    • May be short notice.
  • Starting rate: $21.00 per hour.
    • Shift premium on afternoon shifts.
    • Shift premium on all continental shift coverage.
Duties:
  • Repair, vent, clean, blast, disassemble/assemble segmented and non-segmented tire molds.
  • Maintain required documentation and record keeping.
  • Mandatory rotation onto Dry Ice Venter crew as required for leave/vacation coverage.
  • Note: Dry Ice Venter coverage is rotating continental shift work; Sunday through Saturday; 7:30am to 7:30pm and 7:30pm to 7:30am – short notice.
Qualifications: Qualifications:
  • Prior repair and/or maintenance work in a manufacturing environment (1 year minimum) would be an asset.
  • Requires strong technical skills and basic blueprint reading.
  • Experience with operation of lift truck, hoist, air-powered hand tools, grinder, and painting and lubrication of metal segments/parts.
  • Good eye and hand co-ordination with extreme attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Clean and maintain equipment and ensure the proper use, repair, and storage of materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Must be physically fit to perform the lifting requirements from floor to table.
  • Prior blast booth experience an asset.
    • Operate machine while dressed in protective suit and air supply helmet. Must not be claustrophobic to perform the essential duties of this position.
  • Respirator use is an essential part of this position – candidate must be clean shaven to wear a respirator.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision and in a team work environment.
  • Must be available for rotating continental shift work; Sunday through Saturday; 7:30am to 7:30pm and 7:30pm to 7:30am – short notice.
  • Valid “G” license and clean driving abstract required.
    • Candidates selected for interview must be willing to provide proof of both prior to interview.
  • Must be willing to obtain Class “D” driver’s license within 6 months of hire.
    • The company agrees to cover the cost of expenses to meet this requirement, however, the successful applicant must agree to repay these monies should they terminate their employment agreement before 18 months from commencement of training.
