JOB SUMMARY



The Repair & Overhaul Quality Assurance Inspector reports to the Director, Quality Assurance and supports daily operations of the Repair & Overhaul shop, serving as a coordinating resource for management and employees. In this position, the incumbent is responsible for compliance of the operations of the department with all applicable internal quality standards, TCCA CAR 571 requirements and regulations and, requirements and regulations coming from foreign authority part 145 certifications held by AHCA such as FAA (bilateral agreement), EASA, etc. and others. The Repair & Overhaul Quality Assurance Inspector identifies and reports major deficiencies, extreme or unusual circumstances and initiates appropriate improvements. The Repair & Overhaul Quality Assurance Inspector must communicate and answer questions with Technicians, Supervisors and Managers about possible discrepancies and deficiencies in the process / procedure.



MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES



Incoming Component Inspection:



Assist technicians and / or Shipper / Receiver to ensure incoming documentation and components meet minimum requirements in order for induction into the Repair & Overhaul Shop

Follow up with assigned CSR about discrepancies with paperwork and/or parts as required

Assist with technical correspondence between AH France and Germany through the Technical Events process

Issue NCs as applicable on parts and documentation that are non conforming at receiving.


Final Certification:



Ensure proper management of all technical publications within the department

Ensure all parts and materials used are properly certified in accordance with TCCA guidelines

Determine all applicable Bulletins (AD's, ASB's, IN's, etc.) and mod compliance is carried out

Perform full inspection of Components including FOD inspections at final stage prior to certification to ensure they meet all requirements of the standards of airworthiness in accordance with TCCA CAR's 571

Complete final certification on all components, including Log Cards & Authorized Release certificates and shop documents

Storage of complete technical records in accordance with TCCA regulation

Creates and applies shops standards/ways of working/continuous shop improvement


Inspection:



Ensure that all work is carried out as per the approved data, quality and regulatory requirements

Ensure that all maintenance functions are conducted in accordance with the MPM and the regulations of the applicable Civil Airworthiness Authority governing the product being certified

Assist with dual inspections during the build-up stages when feasible

Ensure all Bulletins / Directives (AD's, ASB's, IN's...etc) are up to date and controlled

Assist personnel in the determination of Root Causes for non-conformance reports

Ensure 100% accuracy of all documentation and product records prior to issuance of Form Ones.


Control of Documentation:



Ensure the work package used for each Repair & Overhaul shop project is kept up to date

Ensure all QA Forms that are used in the documentation are the current revision

Update all QA Forms, if required, to meet the applicable Civil Airworthiness Authority governing the product being certified

Monitor all ADs, SBs and ASBs being used to ensure relevance and applicability to the aircraft product type


MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS



Education



College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering or equivalent

Aircraft Maintenance Engineers license category M1, M2 or equivalent certification


Experience:



Experience as a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer on rotorcraft involved with Airbus products is an asset

Minimum 5 years' experience as an Shop Certification Authority (SCA) either at Airbus or externally.

2 years of experience in the Repair & Overhaul of dynamic components


Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

Knowledge of tools used in aircraft repair applications

Aircraft and aircraft component knowledge

Ability to calculate and derive basic arithmetic formulas

Ability to interpret technical manuals and documents

Able to trouble shoot and identify issues and corrective measures

Manual dexterity and attention to detail

Focus on delivery high standards of product quality and safety

Able to effectively communicate across various levels of the company in a team environment

Able to solve day to day issues, work under general supervision and work independently as required

Adaptive to new requirements and techniques

Able to legally work in Canada
