Job Overview

Tawatinaw Valley is seeking a

Rental Shop Supervisor

to lead our ski and snowboard rental operations. This hands-on role involves customer service, staff supervision, equipment maintenance, and administrative oversight. If you're friendly, organized, and passionate about creating great winter experiences, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Customer Service & Guest Interaction

Greet and assist guests with ski/snowboard rental equipment Fit and adjust boots, skis, snowboards, helmets, and poles Assist guests with sign-in and waiver completion Deliver excellent customer service with a positive attitude Handle guest concerns and resolve issues professionally

Staff Supervision

Supervise rental shop staff Train new team members in rental procedures and safety protocols Conduct staff performance reviews for returning employees Maintain staff morale and foster a positive team environment

Equipment Management

Oversee preseason and year-end inspections of rental gear Ensure proper maintenance, tuning, and cleanliness of equipment Order inventory and supplies as needed Perform and document ski binding testing and calibrations Ensure all equipment is returned and accounted for daily

Administration & Safety

Maintain accurate records of waivers, inventory, and inspections Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation policies Act as department liaison for health & safety issues Assist with scheduling, budgeting, and guest flow analysis Support special events, school bookings, and group functions

General Support

Assist other departments as needed Participate in cleaning and facility upkeep Perform other duties as assigned by the Facility Supervisor

Qualifications

Previous experience as a ski/snowboard technician is an asset (training provided) Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent communication and organizational abilities Comfortable working in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment Safety-conscious with strong attention to detail Ability to read and understand fitting charts and technical documentation Friendly, dependable, and approachable

Working Conditions

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs Able to stand for extended periods Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in cold winter conditions Weekend and holiday shifts are required Overtime may be required during peak times
