About the Role



Renewal Development is seeking a full-time Construction Labourer to join our team in Metro Vancouver. This role supports our projects from start to finish - from demolition and deconstruction, to relocation and modernization of homes, to finishing tasks across the Lower Mainland.

This position is ideal for someone with prior construction experience who is dependable, safety-conscious, and motivated by Renewal's mission of creating sustainable alternatives to demolition. Experience with demolition, abatement, finishing practices, and carpentry is a strong asset.

Responsibilities



Perform general construction labour tasks including demolition, material handling, site preparation, and cleanup. Support selective deconstruction and safe removal of building components for reuse. Assist with abatement tasks under supervision (e.g. identifying and safely handling materials as required by protocol). Support trades and supervisors with carpentry, framing, drywall, and finishing tasks. Assist with modernization of relocated homes at our facility, including interior and exterior upgrades. Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively. Load, transport, and stage construction materials as required. Maintain safe and organized work environments at both the modernization facility and job sites. Follow all site safety procedures and wear required PPE.

Qualifications



Previous construction labour experience is required (residential experience preferred). Experience with demolition, deconstruction, and safe material handling is an asset. Familiarity with abatement practices (hazard identification, containment, safe work procedures) is an asset; certifications preferred. Skilled with safe use of hand tools and basic power tools. Ability to assist with carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, and other finishing tasks is an asset. Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, working outdoors in all weather, and completing physically demanding tasks. Must be able to travel independently between Renewal's modernization facility and multiple job sites across Metro Vancouver (Class 5 driver's licence and personal vehicle are an asset) Safety-minded, dependable, and detail-oriented. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Term & Location:



Full-time employee position (indefinite term). Work based out of Renewal's modernization facility (Vancouver) and at sites across the Lower Mainland.

Compensation

: $20 - $35/hour, based on skills and experience.
