Primary Responsibilities (What You'll Do)

Deliver high-quality, one-on-one instruction in

English Language Arts (Literature and Writing)

, covering foundational skill development through to advanced essay composition and analytical strategies. Conduct comprehensive assessments of each student's learning profile to develop and implement tailored lesson plans that actively cultivate a genuine interest in reading, critical thinking, and writing. Facilitate captivating and highly interactive virtual tutoring sessions using diverse digital instructional tools. Track students' progress rigorously and provide timely, actionable feedback to continuously enhance their English and literary skills. Collaborate effectively and professionally with staff and fellow teachers to ensure comprehensive support for student success. Maintain a current and in-depth understanding of the latest

Ontario curriculum standards

and best educational practices in English.

Candidate Qualifications and Attributes

Bachelor's degree or higher

in English, Literature, Education, or a closely related field.

Proven ability

to develop comprehensive, engaging, and effective lesson materials. Demonstrated,

extensive teaching or tutoring experience

at the high school level, showing mastery of the curriculum and effective pedagogical methods. An

engaging and lively persona
