Remote Camp Cook

Penn-co Construction is a leading construction company currently hiring a Camp Cook to join our team in northern remote locations. If you are looking to join a leader in the construction industry and bring projects to life, then this may be the perfect fit for you.

Responsibilities

Preparing high quality food for all meal services, meeting dietary requirements where required. Follow meal plan, recipes and presentation specifications. Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Clean and sanitize kitchen appliances, dishes, utensils and all hard surfaces. Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes, including fridge, freezers, countertops, grills, etc. Ensure all daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks are completed. Maintain inventory and record of food, supplies and equipment. Assist with submitting orders for any food or supply items as required. Estimate accurate food consumption for meals, ensuring accurate amount of food is prepared. Assist in unloading the grocery truck. Serve staff in a personable and professional manner. All other labour duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications

Red Seal Cook Certification or in the process completing apprenticeship is an asset but not a requirement. Post-secondary culinary education is an asset but not a requirement, willing to train a suitable applicant. Valid Food Handlers/Food Safe Certification, or willing to complete prior to employment. 2-3 years of previous relevant kitchen experience. Remote camp experience is an asset. Must have a valid Standard First Aid certification. Must have attention to detail and food presentation skills. Available to work a day shift, afternoon shift, split shift, or night shift. Rotation schedule may be 2 weeks on 1 week off or 1 week on and 2 weeks off. Flights are based out of Winnipeg, MB
