In this role, you will be part of a larger team of travel pharmacists. You may be assigned to various locations for short or long-term assignments, depending on the needs of stores. This can offer a lot of variety and opportunities to learn and grow, as you will work in different environments with diverse patient populations.

SUMMARY:

To manage the operations of the Pharmacy while on duty, including providing consultation to both customers and health care providers, practice to full scope in providing professional services, dispensing medication, and assisting in the maintenance of the dispensary.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

\xc2\xb7 The ability to work varying shifts based on store needs. This may include evenings and weekend shifts

\xc2\xb7 Pharmacy and Customer Service

\xc2\xb7 Acknowledge all customers approaching the Pharmacy

\xc2\xb7 Practice within federal/provincial, regulatory/legal requirements

\xc2\xb7 Ensure all privacy requirements are met, including customer confidentiality and consent management

\xc2\xb7 Provide counselling on prescriptions, over the counter/behind the counter products

\xc2\xb7 Practice to full extent of expanded scope with Professional Services, within your capability

\xc2\xb7 Be clearly identifiable to the public

\xc2\xb7 Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions dispensed

\xc2\xb7 Communicate with other health care professionals within the circle of care to provide customer care

\xc2\xb7 Maintain all records required in accordance with legislation, standards of practice, and policy

Workflow and Inventory Management:

\xc2\xb7 Control access to the dispensary with respect to inventory and patient confidentiality

\xc2\xb7 Review and maintain Workflow Queues on a daily basis

\xc2\xb7 Regular review of \xe2\x80\x98will call\xe2\x80\x99 bins, in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures

\xc2\xb7 Review of stock to identify expired inventory

\xc2\xb7 Oversight of current stock levels and medication orders from wholesaler

\xc2\xb7 Ensure all requirements for documentation and control of substances under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Regulations are met and reporting to Health Canada and regulatory bodies

Operations:

\xc2\xb7 Ensure entry/pickup workstations, counselling/waiting areas, and work islands reflect an appropriate image of the Pharmacy

\xc2\xb7 Involvement with financial reports as appropriate

\xc2\xb7 Read and action store communications on in-store web

\xc2\xb7 File incident reports when any customer or staff medication or privacy incidents occur

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

\xc2\xb7 Bachelor of Science, Pharmacy and a Class A Pharmacist license a must

\xc2\xb7 Commitment to providing exceptional customer service

\xc2\xb7 Independent thinking and decision making - makes decisions when dealing with issues or problems

\xc2\xb7 Proven ability to drive and build the business, lead by example and support enterprise programs

\xc2\xb7 Strong personal computing skills and knowledge of Pharmacy systems a definite asset

\xc2\xb7 Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed to provide a healthy and safe work environment

\xc2\xb7 Complete mandatory training and voluntary continuing education workshops, as needed

Travel:

\xc2\xb7 This role requires the ability to travel within Canada across underserved regions for short or long-term assignments as needed, with travel expenses (varying by location) covered by the organization.
