Options Housing is currently looking to fill vacancies on our Relief- Supportive Housing Team. This position is part of a team that is responsible for supporting the full time Housing and Community Support Workers, through both coverage and regularly scheduled weekend shifts. This position works independently to provide basic housing and support services to tenants.

Main Duties:

Provide basic, professional housing and support services to tenant provide support in the development of life skills Organize and facilitate events and activities for tenants Take pro-active steps to prevent a tenant at risk from losing their housing Document all case notes in files Refer and link tenants to other resources Manage crises as they arise

Previous experience, and understanding, in the following areas:

Working with vulnerable people and being able to help them identify personal goals, and supporting them through a process of change Managing complex and difficult situations in relation to people A non-judgmental approach to working with people Self motivation and being able to work alone on a regular basis Understanding of professional boundary issues The role that community plays in reducing isolation Group activity planning Desirable past experience in working with people who have addictions, concurrent disorders and a history of homelessness
