You will utilize your experience to provide technical support for material selection, maintenance repair, root cause analysis investigation and corrosion control in a dynamic workplace. If you are ready to learn and be challenged, possess strong team player and relationship building skills, apply today!Minimum Requirements:4 years of experience in Materials EngineeringA University degree in Materials or MetallurgyBeen registered as a Professional Engineer or eligible for registration with APEGAExperience in the oil and gas industryKnowledge in material wearKnowledge in high temperature damage mechanismsAlignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thingResponsibilities:Support our day-to-day operations, reliability and turnaroundsSupport reliability engineering investigation into piping, static and rotating equipment incidents and reportsUse your deep understanding of materials and provide recommendations to ensure accurate inspection results and adequate corrective actionsReview equipment WPS and heat treatment procedures qualified by Suncor Oil Sands and those submitted by contractorsSupport the development of equipment strategies which include: materials degradation mode, mitigation strategies, condition monitoring program (CML selection, assessment), suitable repair/fabrication processes, IOWs, and asset life cycleLead and participate in risk assessments, investigations and recommend short term solutions and long term plans for mitigationDevelop/update corrosion control documents and guidelinesParticipate in corrosion hazard assessmentsLocation and other Key Details:You will work out of our Base Plant site in Fort McMurray, AlbertaHours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to FridayIf you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory.
