POSITION SUMMARY

The Electrical Reliability Engineer - is primarily responsible to ensure the reliability of electrical equipment in the Trenton AFH converting plant. Expectations are related to the custodianship of the asset management processes. This includes addressing the health of the asset management processes and the health of the assets through the use of reliability improvement processes and appropriate auditing, monitoring and reporting of leading and lagging KPI\'s as per Kruger maintenance process standards (MPS) and the Kruger Reliability Work Management Process. (Awareness and training on relevant standards to be provided). The Reliability Engineer is expected to exercise demonstrable due diligence in the application of improvement processes, recommended solutions and throughout the implementation of the improvements including the use of the management of change process.

  • To oversee all aspects of asset reliability such that they deliver expected performance while reducing or eliminating unscheduled failures and their associated consequences.
  • Promote health and safety in compliance with electrical safety standards, the occupational health and safety act and with all related and improvement activities.
  • Maintain and update, as required, equipment bill of material lists, drawings, preventative and predictive maintenance documents due to equipment upgrades or modifications.
  • Review management of change (MOC) documents for reliability improvement opportunities and equipment upgrades.
  • Review and make recommendations for equipment electrical upgrades due to part obsolescence, increases in demand and new requirements.
  • Develop safe work procedures for electrical preventative, predictive routes, standard jobs and corrective repairs.
  • Modify and create PM/PdM and operator tasks for new and existing equipment through the use of reliability improvement process such as RCM, PMO, RCFA
  • Manage the results of the predicative maintenance tasks though the issuance of diagnostic and corrective work orders as applicable and to be part of the diagnostic process.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement strategies for improving equipment reliability.
  • Perform reliability reviews of proposed equipment modifications, upgrades, or design changes.
  • Participates in the pre repair, shut management and weekly asset meetings to identify work that has to be planned and scheduled as a result of condition based monitoring and reported conditions.
  • To develop and review electrical preventative and predictive inspections.
  • Review and revise equipment criticalities in CMMS.
  • Provide technical expertise to assist skilled trades when required.
  • Assists with yearly budget development.
  • Be responsible for maintaining production equipment in good condition and analyzing failures. Recommend corrective actions, supervise (periodically) the execution of and initiate new programs related to preventive maintenance while monitoring the effectiveness of existing programs.
  • Be responsible for thermographic analysis activities of electrical installations and subsequent repairs as a result of inspection..
  • Provide on-call support for the plant according to the established schedule.
  • Apply Kruger\'s environmental policy in its daily work. Comply with legal and corporate environmental requirements and follow related procedures. Report all environmental incidents and all potential environmental risks.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in electrical engineering with PE designation.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and in-depth knowledge of converting equipment.
  • Minimum 3-5 years work experience in technical and industrial manufacturing/reliability engineering assignments; or 1-2 years work experience in conjunction with formal Reliability Training/Education
  • Working knowledge and application of reliability improvement processes such as RCM, PMO, RCFA.
  • Working knowledge of preventative maintenance and reliability improvement programs, including root cause failure analysis.
  • Strong computer literacy/competency including MS Office and statistical analytical tools.
  • Excellent communication skills including both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and to execute programs in a cross functional environment.
  • Ability to read, understand update machine drawings and/or schematic diagrams.
  • Ability to plan and organize work activities, manage work time efficiently and work independently.
  • Must be flexible and responsive to the needs of the department/facility/business.
  • Ability to partner with managers and employees to positively impact business results.
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive in problem solving and to lead cross functional teams in the resolution of problems while demonstrating a sense of urgency.
  • RCM, PMO, RCFA training a definite asset.
  • Proficiency in or ability to learn Computerized Maintenance Management System.
