We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Reliability Engineer to lead asset criticality assessments and reliability improvement initiatives for our Ammonia Nitrate and Nitric Acid production facilities in Alberta. The ideal candidate will apply advanced reliability methodologies to optimize asset performance, reduce operational risks, and enhance safety and compliance in a high-hazard chemical processing environment.

Key Responsibilities




Conduct asset criticality evaluations using risk-based methodologies (RBA, RCM, FMEA) For Ammonia Nitrate & Nitric Acid manufacturing plant equipment like Ammonia Vaporizer and Preheater, Heat Recovery Boilers, Absorption Towers etc.. Develop and implement reliability strategies for critical equipment and systems. Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and lead corrective action planning. Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and safety teams to align reliability goals. Analyse failure data and reliability metrics to drive continuous improvement. Support condition monitoring and predictive maintenance programs. Ensure compliance with Canadian safety and environmental regulations (CSA, PSM). Maintain and optimize asset data in CMMS/EAM systems (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo). Prepare technical reports and present findings to stakeholders and leadership.

Qualifications




Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering. 5+ years of experience in reliability engineering within chemical or process industries. Experience in Ammonia Nitrate and/or Nitric Acid plant operations is highly preferred. Professional certifications such as CMRP, ARP-E, or equivalent are advantageous. Strong knowledge of asset integrity, corrosion management, and pressure systems.

Technical Skills




Proficiency in reliability tools: ReliaSoft, RAM analysis, FRACAS. Skilled in data analysis and visualization (Excel, Power BI). Familiarity with Canadian regulatory standards and process safety protocols. Experience with condition monitoring technologies (vibration, thermography, oil analysis).

Soft Skills




Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset. * Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
