The Reliability Analyst - Medical Products is responsible for establishing reliability standards and overseeing all reliability aspects of Kinova medical products. Using advanced reliability analysis methodologies and statistical tools, the Reliability Analyst leads and guides the engineering practices in relation to product reliability. This is a cross-functional role that requires close collaboration with the engineering, procurement, production, and maintenance teams. The Reliability Analyst is also involved in monitoring product performance once launched on the market. This role is essential for ensuring operational reliability and long-term cost reduction.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish, implement, and oversee reliability standards and best practices for new product development.
Lead and guide engineering teams on product reliability, from initial design to production and maintenance.
Conduct advanced reliability analyses, including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), during the product design and development phases.
Develop and implement testing protocols to validate product reliability and durability.
Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, production, and maintenance to ensure reliability requirements are met throughout the product lifecycle.
Manage key performance indicators (KPIs) and propose technical solutions to enhance product reliability.
Support the root cause analysis (RCA) of product failures to drive continuous improvement.
Acquire, analyze, and interpret reliability and cost data to identify the root causes of failures and quality issues.
Lead monthly technical team meetings (MFT) to discuss failures, identify causes, and propose solutions.
Monitor the performance of products launched on the market, analyzing field data to identify reliability issues and opportunities for improvement.
Analyze and interpret data from reports and dashboards on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), and MTTF (Mean Time to Failure) to provide data-driven recommendations.
Conduct reliability, maintainability, and availability studies and analyses to support strategic decisions.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in reliability analysis tools and methodologies (FMEA, RAM analysis, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), RCA).
Experience with statistical software for reliability analysis (e.g., Minitab, JMP) and Weibull analysis.
Knowledge of common failure modes, including:
+ Random failures.
+ Failures due to fatigue.
Knowledge of models used in reliability, including:
+ Exponential distribution.
+ Log-Normal distribution.
+ Weibull distribution.
Knowledge of CMMS and industry best practices.
Proficiency in reporting and coding tools (e.g., PowerBI, SQL, Python).
Knowledge of CAD software (AutoCad, SolidWorks).
Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
Proficiency in the Google Suite (Sheets, Slides).
Functional and Personal Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, maintenance, etc.).
Excellent written and oral proficiency in both official languages (French/English).
Dynamic, autonomous, and well-organized.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proven leadership skills.
Results-oriented.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
Active member of the Ordre des ingenieurs du Quebec (OIQ).
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a reliability-focused role.
Practical knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and root cause analysis (RCA).
