Amsted Canada has established a new Business Center in downtown Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. We are elevating our Global Technology teams in several areas including but not limited to Engineering, Cybersecurity, Development, Infrastructure, Emerging Technology, and SAP. We are also expanding our Shared Services Support (HR, Payroll, AP/AR, and Finance). These teams are instrumental in providing support to all Amsted affiliate locations worldwide.

Position Details

Create and maintain dashboards, queries, and models that bring visibility to manufacturing data and routinely assess the health of our onboard telematics devices in the field. The candidate will be required to perform a variety of exploratory analyses and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization of our products. The candidate will be an internal partner with commercial team, hardware design team, firmware development teams, technical support, and manufacturing teams to understand broad problem statements, and translate those broad problem statements into specific data pipeline/visualization plans.

Expectations

Take a practical approach to data analytics, referencing realistic thresholds and cross-referencing with field examples of data to ensure data is high quality. Communicate results and gather feedback to technical and non-technical cross-functional teams. Build robust, flexible, and automated software tools to enable complex analysis of real-time fleet. Contribute to the automation and standardization of our data pipelines. Build visualizations to effectively communicate results.

Position Requirements:
  • High level of proficiency using SQL and/or Tableau/PowerBI or equivalent tools
  • Apply statistical analysis to test (accelerated life) and field (life) data to inform reliability modeling/analyses and associated corrective actions
  • Answer complex questions on customer usage and behavior to enable proactive monitoring
  • Experience with data manipulation and processing, preferably in SQL (e.g., using PySpark or Pandas)
  • Experience building statistical or other analytical models (e.g., using scikit-learn, NumPy, etc.)
  • Work closely with Reliability and Design engineers to create/interpret/validate numeric models of fielded and in-test products
  • Experience in ensuring the integrity of data sources
  • Familiarity with Azure Cloud Services
  • Familiarity with IoT products and data
  • General Knowledge of data pipelining
  • Experience with data visualization techniques
  • Four (4) year degree or equivalent certifications in fields that align with the requirements of the position from accredited academic sources
