We're seeking a Release Train Engineer (RTE) that can help us build and run awesome agile teams for CNB Digital out of our Montreal lab. The Release Train Engineer is responsible for leading many squads and scrum masters towards targeted and scheduled outcomes that deliver on the program objectives. Integrates efforts, continuously assesses and refines approaches and plans, and has accountability of ensuring effective and timely communications to the appropriate parties. You are not afraid of challenging the team on details and able to think strategically.
What will you do?
Facilitate key ART ceremonies (PI planning sessions, Scrum of scrums, S3 forums, ART sync).
Ensure alignment across teams and with Product Management.
Guide the ART toward increasing predictability and sustainable delivery.
Support release management in coordination with stakeholder across the organization.
Ensuring scrum principles and approaches are understood correctly by the development teams and stakeholders, maximizing the performance of the team.
Report, help resolve, and escalate impediments to the Delivery Director
High level of general management skills including, but not limited to, leading, negotiating, communicating and team building
In this role, you will communicate and interact frequently with RBC partners and/or employees located across Canada and/or worldwide.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
5+ years of experience in Agile delivery, with at least 3 years in a leadership or facilitation role (Agile coach, RTE).
Solid understanding of Agile principles, practices and scaling frameworks (SAFe preferred)
IT project delivery experience managing programs with high level of value, complexity and multi-million project budgets.
Extensive experience of SDLC and Agile delivery methodologies and tools (Jira & Confluence).
Experience in project delivery, project plan development and management, project governance, scheduling methodology, project metrics, analysis, status reporting, and change management.
Professional, approachable and fun!
Nice-to-have
SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) Certification
SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or equivalent Agile certifications
Experience with MIS, Planview and RBC project governance.
Previous RBC or Financial Services experience would be an asset
