Job Description

On behalf of our Public Sector Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Release Manager to join our Client's team on a contract basis. This role is Remote and the Client is based in Kamloops, BC.
Summary of the Role
The Release Manager will lead and mature release management practices across the organization's Lottery ecosystem. Operating within Agile environments, the role coordinates and manages complex, multi-team technology releases while aligning with enterprise governance. This is a strategic, senior-level role that supports the design of scalable release processes and facilitates a seamless integration of Agile and traditional ITIL-based practices.
Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage interdependent releases across Agile teams and technology platforms.
Define and implement scalable, modern release management processes aligned with Agile delivery and enterprise governance.
Serve as a bridge between traditional ITIL-based release coordination and Agile delivery models.
Contribute to the future-state design of release practices organization-wide.
Engage with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth release planning and execution.
Maintain accurate release documentation and promote best practices in quality assurance and risk management.
Core Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field
6+ years of experience in Release Management, including 3+ years in Agile or DevOps environments
Proven experience with managing large-scale, multi-team enterprise releases
ITIL certification (V4 preferred)
Agile certification (e.g., SAFe or equivalent)
Desired Skills & Experience
Strong understanding of Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe
Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation tools
Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Git, and Jenkins
Familiarity with ServiceNow for managing release records
Strategic thinker with strong leadership and facilitation skills
Terms
This is a 9-month contract position starting September 15, 2025, with the possibility of extension. The role is remote, with no onsite requirements, and the successful candidate must be located within British Columbia. Candidates must undergo a background check and provide references at the offer stage. Additionally, approval from the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB) is required before onboarding. Please note that the Client will not provide a laptop for this engagement.
