Job Summary:



In consultation with the Program Manager, the Rehabilitation Care Worker provides life skills training and support services for clients regarding issues such as personal care, access to community leisure programs, housekeeping duties, planning and preparing meals, booking medical appointments and organizing a weekly schedule with one or more brain injured clients living in the community. The Rehabilitation Care Worker empowers the client(s) to perform all aspects of daily living as independently as possible, providing support and intervention where necessary.

Qualifications:



Recent related experience working with the brain injured or other disabled population in a group home setting Current certification and documents in the following areas: emergency first aid or equivalent to CPR level A Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education, training and experience Proficient in written and spoken English

Skills And Abilities:



Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to deal with others effectively including patients/residents, families, and staff. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team. Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. Ability to teach, demonstrate, and instruct. Ability to organize work. Ability to operate related equipment.

Schedule:



Monday-Friday 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $27.92 per hour

Experience:

supportive care: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:

Emergency First Aid Certification (preferred)
Work Location: In person
