REGULATORY & QUALITY MANAGER - CANADA

The Regulatory & Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with Canadian regulatory requirements and maintaining quality standards for Batory Industries Ltd. This role oversees regulatory documentation, manages certifications, and coordinates audits to support operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

This position is currently remote, in the GTA. This position will eventually be hybrid with 3 days in the office.



Key Responsibilities:




Regulatory Compliance




Manage and maintain CFIA license and ensure adherence to Canadian Food Inspection Agency requirements. Oversee Organic compliance and maintain certification standards. Manage RSPO membership and related sustainability documentation. Manage Canadian food facility registrations. Ensure compliance with Canadian regulations, including but not limited to: + Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in English and French
+ Transport Canada requirements
+ Import restrictions and licenses
+ Product specific licenses and permits
Review new products for Canadian DSL compliance. Maintain accurate HS codes and Country of Origin (COO) for all products. Manage annual CUSMA certificates required and assist imports team with any customs clearance issues.

Quality Assurance




Oversee quality standards across operations and conduct internal audits of 3PL partners. Coordinate customer audits with third-party logistics providers (3PLs). Manage and maintain quality and regulatory documentation, including but not limited to: + Quality Manual
+ Letter of Guarantee (LOG)
+ Ensure alignment with internal and external audit requirements.
+ Documentation & Customer Support
Support customers with compliance documentation and certifications. Manage internal audit, external audit and customer requested CAPAs involved with regional 3PLs. Participate in annual Quality and Leadership meetings All other duties and responsibilities as directed or assigned by senior



Personal Qualifications:




Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, or related field. Minimum 5+ years' experience in regulatory compliance and quality management within the food industry. Strong knowledge of Canadian food regulations, CFIA, CBSA, and trade agreements (CUSMA). Experience managing all the aspects of the GFSI programs and certifications such as FSSC 22000, BRC, Experience implementing and managing FDA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and cGMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP). Experience with internal facility audits ensuring compliance for all applicable laws, standards and programs. Experience implementing systems and procedures for the proper reporting and data analysis of food safety and quality issues, and experience in implementing corrective actions and preventive measures to ensure corporate food safety and quality assurance issues are addressed. Experience with organic certification, RSPO, and sustainability programs. Familiarity with import/export documentation, HS codes, and customs clearance processes. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office and regulatory documentation systems. Knowledge of WHMIS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, and Canadian labeling requirements. Experience managing audits and working with 3PLs.
