The Corix team is seeking a highly motivated individual that is looking for career growth through experience with District Energy applications. The

Regulatory Analyst

supports the preparation of applications and filings to the applicable economic regulators in each Canadian jurisdiction in accordance with the applicable legislation, policies, rules and guidelines. This position will also assist in preparing the relevant responses to regulator information requests and utility arguments as required.


Compensation




$71,000 to $101,000 depending on background and relevant experience

What You Will Do



Assist in preparing regulatory applications and filings, including responses to information requests and the compilation of necessary documents under the guidance of senior team members. This may include applications to: + change customer rates.
+ construct new utilities or execute major capital projects.
+ acquire or dispose of utilities or specific assets; or
+ comply with previous directives from the regulator.
+ Review and interpret financial models that support and inform regulatory filings.
+ Perform industry and regulatory research as required, under the guidance of senior team members
+ Perform additional regulatory and compliance duties as needed to support Corix's objectives
+ Work alongside the operations, finance, legal, and tax departments to prepare material for regulatory proceedings.
+ Conduct necessary research to respond to information requests from regulators or customers and provide basic regulatory guidance to staff.
+ Support internal regulatory processes by documenting and updating procedures and practices.
+ Attend meetings, public consultation sessions and regulatory hearing as required, under the guidance of more experienced staff members.
+ Carry out additional regulatory and compliance-related tasks as needed.

What You Bring



Education and Experience



1-3 years of relevant experience. Experience in a utility/energy sector would be advantageous. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as commerce, finance, accounting, or economics would be acceptable. Graduate business degree (MBA), professional finance designation (CFA), or professional accounting designation (CPA) is preferred.

+ Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail + Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to communicate complex matters in simple terms to various stakeholders
+ Ability to take initiative with sound decision-making skills
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues from various departments
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
+ Ability to read, analyze and interpret relevant legislation, policies, rules and guidelines is an asset.
