The Otipemisiwak Metis Government is recruiting for a Registry Systems Coordinator to support the Registry team. Reporting to the Registry Operations Manager, this position will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of registry databases. The successful candidate will collaborate with departments and affiliates, assist with troubleshooting and testing newly implemented programs, and ensure the overall usability and integrity of the Registry database. This role will also ensure the accuracy of citizenship information within citizenship files and support the delivery of various programs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, accountable, and organized with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain, update, and verify contact, address, and citizenship information within the database, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.
Confirm active citizenship eligibility for Otipemisiwak Metis Government programs and services.
Collaborate with departments and affiliates regarding opportunities for database utilization for new and existing programming (e.g., Sports & Recreation, Harvester Relief, Metis Cup, Metis Games).
Accept and validate citizenship data prior to inclusion in citizenship files.
Identify opportunities to improve database-connected programming and internal registry processes.
Assist with the creation of new programs within Registry databases.
Troubleshoot database issues and coordinate with internal or external support teams as required.
Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all interactions and ensure strong integrity of the database.
Participate in staff meetings and special projects within the Registry department and attend other internal and external meetings as required.
Present a positive and professional image of the organization when interacting with employees, clients/customers, visitors, and other external stakeholders.
Travel throughout the province of Alberta to assist with Registry Sessions and other events.
Other duties as required or assigned.

Knowledge of Metis history, culture, and issues affecting Metis people. An in-depth understanding of the Otipemisiwak Metis Government and Metis culture is an asset.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Information Management, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
Minimum two (2) years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a government, non-profit, or Indigenous organization.
Previous experience maintaining or working within databases.
Other Requirements
Position is based in Edmonton, AB; in-office presence is required.
Ability to work a regular schedule of Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM as well as occasional evenings and weekends, with notice.
Ability to travel throughout Alberta.
Reliable transportation and a valid Class 5 driver's license.
