Trillium Spine Center is a neurosurgeon?led, multidisciplinary clinic focused on comprehensive spinal care. We offer both operative and non?operative treatments for spine and spinal cord disorders, bringing together physiotherapy, chiropractic care, acupuncture, massage therapy, and pain intervention.
Our rehabilitation team provides specialized, patient?centred care aimed at restoring function, reducing pain, and improving quality of life.
Position Summary
The Physiotherapist will work as part of the rehabilitation team to assess, plan, and deliver physiotherapy services to patients with spinal conditions (pre?/post?surgery, chronic spine pain, degenerative conditions, etc.) and other musculoskeletal disorders. The role allows you to be independent in your approach towards patient care while also collaborating with neurosurgeons, chiropractors, massage therapists, and other allied health professionals at Trillium Spine Center to deliver integrated care.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments of mobility, strength, pain, posture, functional limitations, and spinal health.
Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's condition, goals, and lifestyle.
Provide hands?on manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, modalities and movement education.
Manage post?operative and non?operative spine rehabilitation, including mobility restoration, pain control, scar mobilization, posture correction, gait training if needed.
Monitor patient progress, re?assess as needed, adjust plans of care.
Collaborate with the interprofessional team (surgeons, chiropractors, acupuncture, massage therapy) to ensure coordinated care plans.
Maintain accurate, complete documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress, and outcomes.
May supervise or mentor junior staff, physiotherapy assistants, students or residents (depending on level - resident vs registered).
Stay current with evidence?based practices in physiotherapy and related fields, including continuing education.
Qualifications
Essential
Degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution.
Registered in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (for registered PT) or eligible/on track for registration (for resident PT).
Strong knowledge of human anatomy, biomechanics, and pathology.
Experience (or strong interest) in spinal rehabilitation - managing spinal pain, post?surgical rehab, chronic spine conditions.
Excellent manual therapy, therapeutic exercise prescription skills.
Strong communication, interpersonal skills, ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Good organizational abilities; ability to manage multiple patients, maintain documentation and follow clinics systems.
Work Schedule & Conditions
Clinic hours are Monday to Friday, 9am - 4pm. Saturdays are open as schedule grows.
In?person, hands?on care in a multidisciplinary clinic setting.
Might involve occasional weekend or extended hours depending on patient needs or clinic scheduling.
Direct patient contact; physical demands associated with manual therapy and mobilization techniques.
