RVT, Team Lead - Multiservice

Western Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Centre, a member of VCA Canada, is currently recruiting for a full time multiservice Registered Veterinary Technologist to join our always growing facility. This role will require you to oversee a team of 10+ RVT's and you will report to the Assistant and General Managers.

Key Responsibilities

------------------------

Scheduling Payroll Training, mentorship and development Ongoing support of team members. Other responsibilities include: triaging, ICU treatments, starting client appointments, collection and running or submitting of blood samples, radiographs, as well as maintaining timely and accurate patient records.

Qualifications for ideal candidate

--------------------------------------

Excellent interpersonal skills and be compassionate with the ability to adapt to the needs of the clients within the various services. Proven leadership skills and the desire to grow. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work well within a highly functioning team. This person will be self-motivated to keep busy when not assigned to a specific department and expected to work in the ER when required. Anesthesia will be a large portion of the position, along with performing advanced technical skills (ie CRI's, epidurals, and mechanical ventilators).

Schedule

------------


The schedule for this position will be a combination of 4 x10.5 hour shifts and 5 x 8.5 hour shifts over the Monday-Friday period. Applicants must be a registered RVT with experience in the veterinary field and be eligible for registration with AAAHT in Alberta.
