The

Calgary Animal Referral and Emergency (C.A.R.E.) Centre

is currently welcoming a Full-time Anesthesia

Registered Veterinary Technologist

to join our Anesthesia service.

The successful candidate will possess:

Excellent interpersonal skills and compassion for the needs of their clients. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. This position involves providing anesthesia for many departments. Anesthesia with a ventilator and epidurals are common practice and are performed almost daily. Experience with anesthesia is required. VTS-certified technicians interested in pursuing their VTS certification in anesthesia are welcome to apply. Applicants must be registered with AHT and be eligible for registration with AAAHT in Alberta.

Other responsibilities include (but are not limited to): client communication, taking radiographs pre- and post-operative, collecting and submitting blood and other lab samples, assisting in CT scans, and maintaining timely and accurate patient records.

Schedule:

The schedule for this position is Monday to Thursday from 7:30 am - 6 pm with additional after-hours anesthesia requirements.
