Animal Health Partners and VetStrategy have collaborated to establish Lakeshore, our second AHP location. We are actively seeking skilled technicians to join our Internal Medicine department. Lakeshore boasts similar amenities to our existing location but with an expanded footprint. About the Role:

Our Candidates Require:

To be Registered Veterinary Technician with the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians Experience or a special interest in internal medicine The ability to perform exceptionally well under pressure A passion to educate and build strong relationships with pets and their owners A positive attitude, enthusiasm for the job, and a relentless drive to excel every day

Skills and Effort Requirements:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to use independent judgment and initiative Ability to participate as a cooperative team member Ability to multitask Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Internal Medicine DVM, your duties will include:

Restraint of dogs and cats for performing examinations and procedures Administration of oral and parenteral medications Administer sedation and monitor patients as required Collect and prepare specimens for diagnostics Perform basic laboratory work Perform radiographs and CT scans Assist DVM with procedures including, but not limited to, bone marrow biopsies, endoscopy, and esophagostomy tube placement Patient care Support CT scans Create and manage patient treatment sheets according to DVM orders Review and summarize patient records Communicate with clients during collection of history, patient discharge, or clinical updates via telecommunications Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

This role:

Works out of a dynamic clinic setting Requires computer usage (research, typing, practice management software, etc.) Requires medical equipment usage (monitoring equipment, diagnostic analyzers, etc.) Oversees the health and wellness of animals May require bending, lifting, twisting, etc. Requires daily attention to multiple priorities and competing demands with minimal supervision
