Job Summary

Central animal emergency clinic Coquitlam is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians in the care and treatment of animals. You will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of pets while delivering exceptional client service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. We are open evenings weekends and nights.

Duties

Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian Monitor animal patients before, during, and after procedures Maintain accurate medical records and documentation Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventative health measures Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic and equipment Provide compassionate care to all animals in the clinic

Skills

Strong laboratory experience is preferred for conducting tests and analyzing results Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Proficient in using veterinary software for record keeping Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment Team player with a positive attitude towards animal care

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $27.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 - 36 per week
