Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and handling, with a focus on providing high-quality veterinary services. This role is essential in supporting veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures, ensuring the well-being of our animal patients.

Responsibilities



Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures, providing necessary support and equipment. Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, while maintaining accurate records. Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian. Monitor animal patients before, during, and after surgical procedures to ensure their safety and comfort. Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during procedures. Provide proper restraint of animals for examinations and treatments. Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and health maintenance. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas. Handle various species of animals with care and respect, including dogs, cats, and equines.

Experience


Candidates should have the following skills and experience:

Previous veterinary technician experience is preferred. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices. Experience in dog handling, animal restraint, catheterization techniques, and dental terminology. Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment. Experience with veterinary critical care is a plus. Background in kennel management or pet grooming is beneficial. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
