As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in the health and well-being of animals. Your expertise will be essential in providing high-quality care, assisting veterinarians during examinations and procedures, and ensuring that our furry patients receive the love and attention they deserve. You'll be at the forefront of animal care, utilizing your skills in various areas such as animal handling, laboratory work, and critical care.

What you'll do

Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures to ensure optimal animal health. Perform routine laboratory tests and analyze results to aid in diagnosing conditions. Utilize your knowledge of veterinary terminology and anatomy to communicate effectively with the veterinary team. Provide compassionate care to animals in distress, including administering medications and monitoring vital signs. Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to aseptic techniques during procedures. Educate pet owners on proper animal husbandry practices, nutrition, and preventive care. Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations or treatments to minimize stress for both the pet and staff.

Experience

A minimum of two years of experience as a Veterinary Technician or equivalent role is preferred, but not required. Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices and emergency response protocols is highly desirable. Experience with animal catheterization, restraint techniques, and basic surgical assistance is essential. Previous experience in laboratory settings will enhance your application. Strong understanding of animal physiology and anatomy to provide accurate assessments during care.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 per week
