Eagleson Veterinary Clinic is a full-service small-animal clinic (AAHA-accredited) at 58-500

Eagleson Rd, Kanata, Ontario. We provide medicine, dentistry, surgery, hospitalization, and ultrasound. We are recruiting for a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT).

Job Duties

We are looking for candidates motivated to contribute in a client-focused team environment. The successful candidate will have 3 years' experience in the following facets of a small-animal veterinary practice:

? Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals ? Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery ? Produce radiographs, collect and analyse samples and perform other laboratory tests to assist in diagnosis of animal health problems ? Assist veterinarian with animals before, during and following surgery by preparing surgical equipment, administering and monitoring anaesthetics and cleaning up after surgery ? Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under direction of a veterinarian ? Administer treatments as prescribed by a veterinarian ? Provide wound and bandage care ? Conduct specialized procedures such as animal identification ? Educate and advise clients on animal health care including nutrition and home care ? Assist in laboratory research ? Perform routine veterinary dental support procedures (prophy, charting, radiographs) and assist veterinarians with dentistry ? Place and maintain IV catheters; monitor and record anesthesia, pain scores, and recovery parameters

Maintain treatment logs, inventory, and equipment quality-control checklists May perform a variety of office management and clerical duties.

Skill Requirements

Completion of a two- or three-year veterinary technology program (RVT).

Active registration and good standing with the Ontario Association of Veterinary

Technicians (OAVT) by start date.

Terms of Employment

Full time, permanent position. Start date is as soon as possible.
