Job Summary

Westbrook Veterinary Clinic, a privately owned practice in South Edmonton, currently seeking a full-time RVT to join our team of motivated caregivers. We are a three doctor practice that offers a great working environment including being closed on the weekends to allow for a great work/life balance. We offer full benefits including medical/dental, CE allowance, uniform allowance and all fees and dues as well as a competitive salary. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to animals while assisting veterinarians in various procedures. This position requires a strong commitment to animal welfare and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures. Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, ensuring accurate results. Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian. Monitor and record animal vital signs and behavior during treatments. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilization of instruments. Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventive health measures. Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments.

Skills

Strong laboratory experience is preferred to perform diagnostic tests effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact with pet owners and team members. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a busy clinic environment. Compassionate attitude towards animals with a strong focus on their well-being. Proficient in using veterinary medical equipment and technology. Attention to detail for accurate record keeping and medication administration. Pay: $20.00-$32.00 per hour
