We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for animal care and a strong foundation in veterinary practices. This role involves working closely with veterinarians to provide high-quality medical care to a variety of animals, ensuring their health and well-being. The Veterinary Technician will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our veterinary facility, contributing to both clinical and administrative tasks.
Duties
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
Perform animal handling and restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both staff and animals.
Utilize aseptic techniques during surgical procedures and laboratory tests.
Conduct routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
Provide education to pet owners regarding animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
Monitor the vital signs of animals under anesthesia or during recovery.
Assist in dental cleanings and procedures, utilizing knowledge of dental terminology.
Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic, including kennel areas.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or similar role is preferred.
Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices.
Experience in handling various animals including dogs, cats, and equines is highly desirable.
Familiarity with veterinary critical care protocols and laboratory procedures.
Ability to perform animal catheterization and administer injections confidently.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
Knowledge of pet grooming techniques is a plus.
Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience will be considered.
