We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing therapeutic services to children and families, focusing on their emotional, psychological, and social well-being. This role requires a strong background in patient care and the ability to work effectively in a clinical setting. The Therapist will engage in data collection, case management, and research to develop tailored treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
Duties
Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine the needs of patients.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
Provide therapy sessions to children and their families, utilizing evidence-based practices.
Maintain accurate records of patient progress and treatment outcomes.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Engage in ongoing data collection and research to enhance therapeutic practices.
Educate patients and families about mental health issues, coping strategies, and available resources.
Participate in case management activities, including referrals to additional services as needed.
Stay current with medical terminology and advancements in the field of pediatrics and special education.
Requirements
An MSW degree in social work. A BSW with an RSW will be considered only if the candidate has specialized training and/or extensive experience in the field.
Experience working with children and families is preferred
Strong understanding of the child welfare system relevant to therapy practices.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and colleagues.
Ability to write reports for assessments and treatment planning.
Experience or training in special education is beneficial but not mandatory.
Must possess a valid license or certification from the Mantitoba College of Soical Workers as required by provincial regulations.
