Registered Social Worker - Perinatal Mental Health

Location: Hamilton, Ontario (In-person; Virtual; Walk-and-Talk)

Type: Independent Contractor Position (10-15 sessions per week)

Mountain Brow Counselling is a private psychotherapy practice est. 2022. We are in the heart of the Hamilton Mountain specializing in supporting families during the perinatal period and well beyond including children, youth, couples, and families. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Social Worker to join our team this fall 2025. The ideal candidate will have passion and expertise in perinatal mental health as well as other competencies, providing compassionate and effective psychotherapy services both in-person and virtually. Mountain Brow Counselling also offers walk-and-talk therapy and we would love the successful candidate to provide this service as well. We are looking for someone who wants to join a team where mutual support, shared growth, and collaboration for our clients and each other are at the heart of everything we do.

Responsibilities:

Provide individual psychotherapy to support individuals experiencing perinatal mental health challenges including but not limited to: birth trauma, fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, relationship stress, overwhelm, hopelessness, worry, anger, grief, identity changes, parenting roles and expectations arising from the perinatal transition. If you have other specialities (i.e. couples counselling, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, children's mental health) we are happy to hear about your additional areas of expertise and what you would like to offer in addition to treating perinatal mental health.

Qualifications and Requirements

Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) Minimum 2+ years of experience providing psychotherapy Proof of liability insurance Demonstrated skills in perinatal mental health and trauma. EMDR or other bottom-up approach (i.e. brainspotting, IFS; ART, etc.) is very important in working with this population. Special consideration to individuals with lived experience with fertility, perinatal loss, perinatal mental health, parenthood Expertise in a variety of therapeutic models such as EMDR; ACT; EFT; DBT; CBT; IFS; Brainspotting; ART; Gottman Method and/or Emotion Focused Couples Therapy Open to providing walk-and-talk therapy Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Strong administrative skills - why we do have admin support, it is essential that you are able to manage your caseload in order to provide a high quality of care to our clients Comfortable with in-person and virtual therapy modalities Availability for flexible scheduling, including at least

one evening per week or weekend day

Due to our community's needs, we cannot consider candidates who are unable to commit to this scheduling requirement Access to a secure and private environment for virtual sessions All remote work necessities, including excellent internet connection, a designated professional workspace and backdrop, and a reliable computer, ability to trouble-shoot technology Adherence to ethical guidelines and standards of practice including timely documentation and completion of client billing Successful candidates must obtain outside clinical supervision

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $102.00-$108.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 15 per week
