We are looking to hire a motivated and energetic Respiratory Therapist to be part of our team to help patients with Sleep Apnea.



ROLE:

To educate, treat and follow up with patients being screened or already diagnosed with Sleep Apnea with the highest level of patient care. Clinicians will work with our Medical Office Assistants, other clinicians and organizational administrators in providing testing and treatment for our sleep apnea patients.

Duties include:



Receive requisitions from physicians, reviewing case and medical history and assessing the nature of the problem to determine the best diagnostic and treatment pathway for the patient (under the direction of medical practitioners) Assess patients for the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders Conduct various sleep disorder related tests involving non-invasive techniques such as overnight oximetry and level III home sleep apnea testing Maintain, calibrate and operate equipment related to ambulatory sleep studies Download and score raw data from multi-channel ambulatory sleep studies (all scoring of raw data must be overseen by or under the discretion of a RPSGT) Follow up on and resolve issues related to the interpretation of sleep studies Participate in team activities to ensure an efficient and effective delivery of services Perform infection control practices for patient and employee safety Maintain and prepare equipment for diagnostic studies and for PAP therapy Implement and maintain PAP therapy on patients according to medical practitioner prescription (including assessment of best equipment and mask for successful therapy) Prepare PAP therapy compliance reports, post oximetry reports, and progress notes for medical practitioners Provide service requirements for patients on PAP therapy Document all patient information in the electronic medical record Prepare extended health benefits submissions for patients Oversee the duties of the medical office assistant Complete equipment inventory tasks

Attend staff and safety meetings as scheduled Participate in safety audits of workspace, communicate any concerns immediately Participate in regular staff training and continuing education Follow guidelines for patient testing and treatment according to company protocols Follow Infection Control policies and procedures Maintain patient confidentiality at all times Understand and follow all accreditation standards

Required credentials and experience:



Must be registered as a Registered Respiratory Therapist Experience in clinical settings

Reports to:



Report directly to VP, Operations

EXPERIENCE:



Must have previous clinical experience
