What we are looking for:
We are seeking an innovative, team-focused and customer service orientated individual for our Pulmonary Function Laboratory. Your strong clinical skills including your ability to coach and facilitate testing will ensure all of the day to day activities in the lab are performed. This includes equipment maintenance and calibration and other duties as required. You will also be responsible for maintaining high quality testing and results.
What you bring to the role:Completion of a recognized respiratory therapy program
Current registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists and the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists
A minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience in a hospital setting
Current BCLS certification
BodyBox experience is required
Previous experience in pediatric testing and pulmonary function, methacholine, exercise induced asthma, critical care setting and arterial blood gases; exercise oximetry for home oxygen will be considered an asset
An ability to work to work independently and within a team setting
Exceptional interpersonal and collaborative, communication, and organizational skills
Proven abilities in complex analysis, critical thinking and problem solving
Proficient computer skills
Evidence of continuing education and professional development
Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain this same standard
Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
Work Schedule:
The successful candidate will be available to cover day, evening and night shifts; inclusive of weekdays and rotating weekends. These may be in 8 or 12 hour shifts.
