Your Role
As a CPAP/BiPAP Specialist, you will work collaboratively within an inter-professional team, with an ongoing standard of excellence and leadership in respiratory care, education, and research. You will be responsible for assisting and managing clients with a wide range of respiratory disorders, ensuring their health care needs are met, and appropriate sleep therapies are provided.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessing and setting up clients on CPAP & BiPAP therapy
Educate clients on their condition and their prescribed therapy and follow-up with clients as needed
Fit clients with appropriate mask interfaces and CPAP units for home use
Setting up, explaining, and downloading various sleep diagnostic devices such as Apnea Links
Maintain and adhere to all EMR charting policies
Provide troubleshooting with medical devices
Assist in training of new Sleep Therapist employees if required
Provide equipment as per physician orders
Ensure that all contact with clients is accurately charted in a timely manner
Provide client education and training on safety related issues as part of delivery of service for all clients
Responsible to help create and maintain a safe and healthful work environment
Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained.
Responsible for insurance paperwork for CPAP patients.
Requirements:
Active registration in good standing with CRTA
CSRT membership
Current BLS certification
Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy
Strong communication, time management, and empathetic patient interaction skills
Independent judgment and decision-making ability
