Job Description

We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our growing and dynamic team to provide coverage to all TLC Lung Diagnostics locations.

The successful candidate will be motivated, self-directed and driven to provide excellent Pulmonary Function diagnostic services to a diverse patient population.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Performs Pulmonary Function Testing as per physician request, clinical practice guidelines and/or clinical pathway.

2. Ensures quality assurance standards are met during testing.

3. Charts patient interaction during testing and communicates critical results as required.

4. Provides quality care consistent with appropriate policies and procedures, quality assessment program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

5. Educates patients on respiratory medications and administration.

6. Provides education and training in Pulmonary Function testing to Respiratory Therapy Students and new staff.

7. Performs routine calibration and basic of Pulmonary Function equipment.

8. Performs Quality Assurance activities as required by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta accreditation guidelines for Pulmonary Function Laboratories.

9. Performs basic equipment troubleshooting within manufacturer guidelines.

10. Monitors inventory levels of equipment and supplies used in the laboratory.

11. Performs administrative tasks as required.

12. Other related duties as assigned.

Experience:

Minimum 1-2 years' experience in Pulmonary Function Testing Experience with Methacholine Challenge Testing preferred Experience with Arterial Blood Gases testing preferred Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist or equivalent experience Experience with Ascent software preferred Experience with Accuro EMR preferred Experience with testing pediatric patients CRE preferred

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

Registered Respiratory Therapist with CRTA and CSRT BCLS - HCP, mandatory ACLS preferred
