Job Description

Our clinic specializes in providing evidence-based psychotherapy for adults. Our typical clients are seeking treatment for mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and trauma and stressor-related disorders. Special areas of interest include bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, adjustment disorder, and chronic insomnia. Everyday challenges feature in our clients' presenting concerns as well: relationship difficulties, employment difficulties, health changes, role transitions, grief and loss, etc.

in person and virtually, manage their own schedule, and seamlessly connect to the technology required to do the job. We offer a warm collegial environment, administrative support, continuing education funding, and opportunities for consultation, mentorship, and peer support.

The ideal candidate will be a registered Psychologist or Psychotherapist in good standing with their college and

will be able to practice autonomously

The successful candidate will have:

Experience in case conceptualization and knowledge of a range of mental health disorders and challenges associated with everyday living

A proven ability to independently create and implement a structured therapy plan with clients using evidence-based treatment modalities

Experience and training providing some of the following treatment approaches: cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), cbt for insomnia (CBT-i), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), interpersonal and social rhythm therapy (IPSRT), and exposure and response prevention therapy (EX/RP) for ocd.

The ability to travel to our office located at Broadview and Danforth to see clients in person

A private space, computer equipment, and internet with speeds appropriate for video sessions, as the provision of virtual therapy services is also required

Excellent interpersonal skills, good judgment, and integrity in all that they do

The ability to independently manage a caseload and work with a high level of autonomy

Experience working as a team and accepting and offering case consultation feedback for the betterment of individual practice and the clinic

Excellent written communication skills are a must as intake reports, occasional progress and discharge reporting, and insurance documentation is required at times

The commitment of hours is flexible and we strive for this to be a role designed to fit your life. It is a great opportunity for the clinician interested in private practice but unsure whether they want to take on the administrative load and business demands of setting up an office practice.

Benefits/Compensation

The successful candidate will be considered to be an associate of the practice and an independent contractor and will invoice the practice at the end of each month. Our fee split is competitive and the practice will provide some funding to associates for continuing education opportunities after a period of 6 months.

A clinical library is available for borrowing books and popular psychometrics are available, with additional or preferred psychometrics acquired by the practice as needed. There will be regular opportunities for clinical consultation and opportunities to learn new treatment modalities.

The practice uses a paperless system of record keeping and appointment bookings will be done seamlessly through easy-to-use practice management software. Kristina provides administrative support to the team and will assist with onboarding and handling most client inquiries and bookings so that you can focus on what you do best. We have worked hard to create administrative processes that are seamless and easy for clinicians.
