TherapyWorks is a growing multidisciplinary practice with a vibrant team of Nurse Practitioner, Social Workers, Counsellors, Occupational Therapists, Youth Development Facilitators, and Specialized Educational Support Workers. Together, we support clients across the lifespan--especially those who are neurodiverse or have complex learning, mental health, and developmental needs. Position Overview:

We're seeking a Registered Psychologist to enrich our assessment team and help us meet growing demands for psychological assessments, diagnostic assessments, and therapeutic interventions. While assessment and diagnosis are the priorities for this role, Psychologists interested in augmenting their hours, with Mental Health Counselling, Couple's Therapy, or Group Therapy, are encouraged to apply. This is a part-time independent contractor position with flexibility for increased hours if desired. Qualified applicants in the process of becoming registered with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC, and seeking permanent residency, can be offered a full time salaried position to meet requirements for express entry with

Responsibilities



Provide comprehensive psychological, diagnostic and psychoeducational assessments and develop treatment plans and recommendations tailored to individual client needs. Deliver client care through therapy sessions and collaboration with members of the care team and client caregivers, focusing on both children and adults. Utilize medical terminology effectively in documentation and communication with healthcare teams. Maintain currency of practice through continuing practice development Contribute to continuous improvements in the organization Collect and analyze data to monitor client progress and adjust treatment strategies as necessary. Contribute to maintaining safe and effective practices within the organization Deliver a committed affirming approach to individuals with gender or sexual divergence, neurodivergence, and cultural differences

Flexible Work Arrangements:

You are welcome to work in person in our Kamloops office or join our virtual team of clinicians and book in person assessments at your convenience. Some in person work is necessary for the functions of the role, but a hybrid model is welcome and in person availability does not need to be continuous.

Enjoy control over your schedule and work hours, with minimal administrative responsibilities.

Supportive Infrastructure:

We handle overhead, software (Jane), administrative tasks, client referrals, marketing, and assessment support, so you can focus on client assessment and client care. For Psychologists electing an employed position, a training allowance is provided.

Our new clinical space includes a clinician offices, play therapy room, group rooms, movement areas, full kitchen and more. Free on-site parking is available, with plenty of nearby options. We have flexibility to create a customized assessment space, including observation room if needed.

Competitive Compensation:

Remuneration is based on a percentage of earnings. For Psychologists seeking a staff position, the hourly rate is $75-100/hour.

Ideal Candidate Profile:



Qualifications (Required):

Doctoral degree in clinical psychology (or equivalent), and registration (or eligibility) with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia.

Experience:

1-5 years in assessing and supporting children, youth, and adults with developmental, emotional, or behavioral challenges.

Skills:

Proficiency in diagnosing Learning Disabilities, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, FASD, and other neurodivergent conditions. Awareness of PDA profile in Autism and the collaborative approaches most successful in facilitating participation.

Therapeutic Techniques:

Training in EMDR, Brainspotting, IFS, Family or Couple's Therapy, DBT, or CBT is beneficial, with adaptability for diverse learning and communication styles, for those wishing to augment the assessment role with psychotherapy services.

Additional Requirements:

Professional liability insurance (general liability recommended), a vulnerable sector criminal record check, and a commitment to ethical, client-centered practice.
