Who We Are



Spirit Psychological is a private practice based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. As a team-focused practice supporting across the lifespan, we work together to provide an exceptional level of care to our clients, big and small.

We are currently seeking a

Registered Psychologist (or Candidate Register) to join our Core Team on a full-time basis.



Our Core Team is comprised of Registered Psychologists and Registered Counselling Therapists working alongside other team members who provide speech-language pathology and intensive learning supports for literacy, math, ADHD and executive functioning. We are proud to offer specialized literacy intervention based in the Orton-Gillingham approach, both in-house and on-line.

Regardless of area of practice, our entire team works together to ensure that every client walking through our door receives the best possible care. We accompany our clients through challenges to wellness, skillfully advocating for their needs using our collective years of experience in both educational and health systems. Where possible, we focus on not only our client but the systems within which they function.

As a collective team, we offer:

Assessment

(psychoeducational, Autism, ADHD, career, behavior)

Therapy

(across the lifespan for individuals, couples and families)

Coaching

(ADHD and executive function)

Consultation

(advocacy, outside agencies such as school and work)

Speech-language (

assessment and intervention)

Behavior intervention

(both coaching/support and more intensive help, through a Core Team member also designated as a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst or BCBA)

Who You Are



As a Core member of our team, you:

are a Registered Psychologist or Psychologist (Candidate Register)

are seeking a a

full-time position with flexible work options

(e.g., in-person, on-line, work from home)

are a person who enjoys being a Core member of a team

, valuing idea-sharing, professional support and lifelong learning

possess an ability to maintain a positive and calm energy

in a busy, multi-age practice while managing a growing caseload

understand the limits of your professional competencies and Code of Ethics

have the skills to provide services

in various types of assessment, consultation and therapy to clients who are

school-aged through to post-secondary

maintain a trauma-sensitive lens

and are interested in furthering your knowledge and skills in trauma-sensitive practices

understand and can recognize the impact of mental health concerns on functioning

(like anxiety, depression, etc) and clearly understand your abilities in aiding clients within your scope of practice. We realize that this may differ across candidates, depending on their declared areas of practice, supervision and experience.
Practically, you:

have some knowledge of client management platforms

such as OwlPractice or Jane, or are willing to learn are comfortable with

seeing clients both in-person and remotely

possess an

ability to multi-task

and

maintain personal productivity

exhibit

excellent communication skills

, both oral and written value

working collaboratively

and

supporting other's growth

as well as your own

can work collaboratively with an administrative assistant

regarding billing, scheduling and other needs you may have to optimize your work.

As we are a teaching practice engaged in lifelong learning, we are open to new graduates who are keen to quickly expand their skill sets.



Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $225.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
