This position is part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA).
In accordance with the , this position has a comprehensive . This position has a market supplement of $6,458.50 in recognition of the specialized qualifications and scope of practice required. Including this market supplement, this position has a total pro-rated salary of $41,926 to $65,351. This position has an initial appointment of 1 year plus 1 day.
Location - This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person work at North Campus Edmonton.
Reporting to the Manager, Academic Programs and Student Services, the Registered Psychologist is the primary provider of psychological services for undergraduate and graduate learners in the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (FoPPS).
This role delivers evidence-based counselling, crisis intervention, and mental health outreach to support learner wellbeing and academic success. It also collaborates with colleagues in the Office of Advocacy and Wellbeing (FoMD) and other campus partners to ensure coordinated, holistic support for students.
Responsibilities:

• Provide individual, couple, and group counselling and therapy for concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment issues.
• Conduct psychological assessment, diagnosis (DSM-5), and treatment planning; refer to specialized services as appropriate.
• Deliver crisis intervention, risk assessment, and critical incident debriefing.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation consistent with CAP and university standards.
• Contribute to program evaluation, wellness strategy, and student support planning.
• Collaborate with the Office of Advocacy and Wellbeing (FoMD) under an existing MOU to support UME students as needed.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Counselling or Clinical Psychology.
• Registered Psychologist in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).
• Minimum five years of relevant clinical experience, preferably within a post-secondary or healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based and trauma-informed modalities.
• Strong understanding of developmental psychology, cross-cultural issues, and healthcare learner wellbeing.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; experience working in interdisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and virtual counselling tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Workspace, doxy.me).
• Familiarity with FoPPS or comparable professional programs is an asset.
• Flexibility in scheduling is required, including some late-afternoon/evening availability to meet student needs.

About the Team: The offers one of Canada's top-ranked PharmD programs, along with a suite of postgraduate opportunities.
